Two road trip weddings in a row!  Well this one was just a little road trip – a hop, skip and a jump down the road to Lockport for Lee and Jill’s wedding!  We started the day out meeting up with the guys and girls separately before Lee and Jill head to the alter to tie the knot!  The ceremony brought with it all the best elements – laughter when the rings were dropped on the black aisle runner requiring some impromptu search and rescue, and tears when Lee and Jill spoke their beautiful vows to each other.  After the ceremony we head off with the wedding party to Lee’s parents yard for some lovely country photos!  While we were off taking photos the lovely ladies of Soiree were back at Rembrandts hard at work transforming the ballroom for dinner.

Ever since we shot their engagement session back in February we have been anxiously awaiting this wedding to shoot these two again. Jill is a beauty, a knockout, a real stunner!  We couldn’t wait to have her in front of our camera again!  And let’s not forget Lee, he is quite the showman, breaking out his best poses whenever possible and doing whatever he can to make Jill laugh. Apart from their good looks we love working with Lee and Jill because they are really just two of the nicest people ever.  EVER.  They were totally trusting of us, relaxed and ready to enjoy their wedding day to the fullest!  We love to see how much fun they have together, and how much fun everyone else has when they are around these two.

The highlight of the wedding day for us, was 20 stolen minutes after dinner when we took the two lovebirds out to enjoy some soft light just down the road from Rembrandts.  Lee and Jill had some time to enjoy each other’s company without anyone else around and we captured some beautiful shots of them showering each other will love and sharing some laughs.

In July we were oh-so-lucky to have the opportunity to go on a little Jack and Ruby road trip.  We packed our lunch box, stuffed the car with all our gear, and off we went.  Gimli may only be an hour outside of Winnipeg, but it was a new landscape for Jack and Ruby and we were so excited!!!

We’ve loved Joel and Deanna since the moment we met them.  They are warm, welcoming, friendly, laid back, and FUN!  We truly had an absolute blast during their engagement session and had looked forward to their “destination” wedding ever since.  What we loved in particular was their love for each other.  Joel is such a gentleman around Deanna, and you can’t help but notice how Deanna glows when she’s around him.  We love love like that!

We arrived in Gimli ready for our day at the lake.  We hung out with Joel and Deanna and their respective wedding parties pre-portraits, and enjoyed the relaxed morning.  When everyone was ready to go Becky and I stole the couple away for a little private moment.  We were so thrilled that they had chosen to do a “first look”, as that’s always a lovely way to start the portrait session and a wonderful way to make that moment special.  After a tour around the Harbor and a little walk down the quaint streets of Gimli, we met up with the wedding party on the beach and carried on with the portraits.  Their wedding party was light hearted just like them, and so easy to spend the day with!

Ceremony time quickly arrived, and we proudly watched as Deanna walked down the sandy aisle, arm linked in her mothers, to meet her man and make him her husband.  He waited there so patiently, with a confident smile, as his bride joined him in front of their closest friends and family to say “I do”.

Joel and Deanna, thanks so very much for being who you are.  You rolled with the punches on your wedding day and that is such a testament to how you will deal with marriage and life.  We are so excited for the two of you and the beginning of your journey!!!!

We spent Saturday with Anthony and Jenievah as they said their “I do’s”.  It was a perfect day, not too hot and not too cold, not too many tears, but just the right amount!  It was such a happy day, and such a pleasure to witness.  We especially loved the joy and enthusiasm from their officiant.  We could see how much she enjoyed her job and the responsibility it carried.  It’s such a novelty for us to be able to witness the beginnings of marriage so often, and to hear such encouraging words.  It can only help us in our own marriages, being able to take a little something away from each ceremony.  Thanks to Jeneivah and Anthony and all of our Jack and Ruby couples for giving us that opportunity!
