She Said Yes… Danielle and David

It’s a weekend Danielle will never forget, a weekend that is so locked into her memory she can still recall it in perfect detail…the song that was playing on the radio on the family’s drive up to Banff (it was Single Ladies by Beyonce and her sister told her to “take it in” but Danielle never got the hint) and she remembers how much to her dismay David pulled her out of Starbucks to walk around the Banff Springs Hotel.  Once they got to the hotel they had some appies in the restaurant and conversation casually turned to engagements and it happened to come up that David was having some problems with getting the ring so Danielle was not holding her breath for any questions to be popped in the near future. After they finished their food they started to walk around and take in some of the sights of the hotel, they came to one room with floor to ceiling windows and gorgeous view of the mountains and David was a little upset that there we so many people in the room, Danielle told him to “chill out” and they went to take some pictures on the balcony.  Danielle was snapping away and when she turned around to tell David it was his turn, there he was down on one knee.  Danielle thought it was some kind of silly joke since he told her he didn’t have the ring and she told him to get up!  David starts to fumble and search around in his pockets and pulls out the ring box, and starts to tell her that he couldn’t imagine a life without her and many many more wonderful things ending with, of course, THE question!!  Lots of crying and so much excitement David forgot to open the ring box and show her the ring that he was not really having trouble getting at all :)

It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that it’s been a long time coming for these to, as long as I (Becky) have known David he’s loved Danielle and as long as I’ve know Danielle she’s received love letters, notes, emails and texts from David.  They are one of those couples that when you watch them or listen to them banter with each other you just know they are meant to be.  When David popped the question in Banff this year there was probably a collective cheer that rang for these two love birds who were going to be tying the knot!!

We had the pleasure of meeting up with them a few weeks ago for their engagement session and lucky for us these two are okay with some PDA in front of the camera.  The sweet little kisses David left on Danielle’s forehead, the squeezes Danielle gave David when she had her arms wrapped around him, it was cuteness overload!  This session really documents two of the many things they told us they love most about each other, how Danielle fits perfectly into Davids arms (insert awwwe here) and how David makes Danielle laugh.

After all the fun we had at their engagement session we can’t wait for their wedding in November!  Don’t forget to check out some more gorgeous photos in the SLIDESHOW

And there’s that gorgeous ring that David did such a good job tricking Danielle with :) Crafted by the lovely people at Her Dream Diamond

Mr & Mrs: Nadav and Pam

I am so very excited to finally share this incredibly special wedding.  Words can’t even describe how I feel about these two, but I’ll try anyway…

Pam was just a friend of a friend, until I crashed a trip she and my cousin were taking to the other side of the world.  Knowing me, I probably invited myself along, but of course I don’t remember it quite like that.  However it happened, I found myself on an airplane to Malaysia alongside Pam and my cousin Kelly.  I, being a bit of a shy girl at times, was slightly nervous about being the third wheel, and about Pam maybe not liking me, or wishing I hadn’t tagged along.  Clearly I didn’t know Pam.  I would soon learn that Pam is the most kind, welcoming, encouraging, and loving gal anyone could meet.

As we trekked across Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and New Zealand together I made a friend for life.  I can’t even remember now not having this gorgeous person as my friend, and can’t imagine that trip, or life, without her.

So, after New Zealand I went home, but for Kelly and Pam the trip continued, back to Thailand and to Vietnam.  It was back in South East Asia where Pam met Nadav.  Nadav was just a nice boy from Israel, and he and Pam kept in touch after they both returned to their home countries.  Life has a funny way of leading us in different directions, only to bring us back together.  A few years later Pam found herself living in Israel with Nadav’s family hosting her as she took Hebrew classes.  A little while before Pam was scheduled to return home the two of them realized that this friendship was so much more… it was love :)

What can I say?  I’m so very happy that the two of you found each other.  Aside from your wedding party I was the luckiest person of all to get to spend your entire wedding day with you and be a witness to the incredible love that you share.  I wasn’t sure there was someone out there deserving of all that Pam has to give, but after meeting Nadav and spending some time around you both, I see that he truly is the perfect match!

I want to send a HUGE thank you out to Jocelyn of de Mo Photography in Saskatoon.  Shooting a wedding, especially such an important one, without Becky by my side was very intimidating.  I really appreciated having her along throughout the day!  Thanks for the fun and support!  Check out her site HERE!

Mr & Mrs: Jenievah and Anthony

Excitement was in the air the morning of Anthony and Jenievah’s wedding.  We walked in to McKenna salon and a couple of girls sat giggling and sharing stories on chairs by the window and the rest of the bridal party were gettin’ all gorgeous with the talented stylists.  I don’t think there was a point in the morning where we saw Jeneivah without a smile on her face, she was always happy and quick to make sure everyone around her had what they needed….Anthony will be very well taken care of by his new wife!  Once the dress was laced up by her mom and her necklace was fastened by her dad we set off to meet Anthony at a spot we had picked out on her parents yard.  We told Jeneivah to stay put and we’d bring Anthony to her….but as soon as she saw him rounding the corner she couldn’t wait any longer and went running into his arms for a super sweet moment.  After a few locations with just the couple we met back up with the wedding party and head out into the country for some shots with the whole group.

It’s always neat to see how different couples incorporate into their wedding the things that are special to them  and after spending the day with Jenievah and Anthony it was easy to see that family is very important to them.  Jenievah had one red rose in her bouquet in remembrance of her grandma and during the ceremony they invited their family and close friends to form a circle around them as Jenievah’s dad prayed for them, it was a really special moment and I think there were a few tissues pulled out when he was done.  That was probably our favorite moment of the ceremony and close behind it was a balloon release during the couple’s first kiss as husband and wife!

We were lucky enough to be work with some lovely ladies who helped make this day so special for J&A!  Audrey from Glo Makeup Studios got the girls all glammed up for the day, Megan from Bloom put together the gorgeous flowers and Desirae from Paper Airplanes designed the lovely stationery!

Friends and family of Anthony and Jenievah, their gallery is now up in the Jack and Ruby Shop!  Follow the link from the card that was on your table at the wedding and use the password from the card to view all the pictures!
